Destination weddings are less stressful to plan having fewer moving parts than a traditional wedding. Destination weddings tend to have a smaller guest list, so there is less people (and opinions) you need to please. Destination weddings are less expensive than traditional weddings. For the price of a destination wedding, you get a wedding AND a family/friend vacation AND your honeymoon. With destination weddings, you will get a free wedding coordinator to handle all of the moving parts for you.
This will depend on your wedding extras, but the average cost for our couples is under $10,000. This includes that couple’s air/hotel package and the wedding package. The average cost of a honeymoon alone is $5,000. When you bring a group, you will earn credits that help you pay for your wedding or travel which helps make a destination wedding more affordable than a traditional wedding.
It’s likely important to you that your closest friends and family members will be able to attend. Make an A, B, and C list of guests. A guests are those that MUST be able to go or else you will keep the wedding at home. B list you would be disappointed if they weren’t at your wedding and you might reconsider a destination wedding. The C list are those you will invite, but their attendance won’t make you sacrifice your dream wedding. Run the idea by your A & B list to see if they would attend
By booking 9-18 months in advance, you and your guests can make a small deposit to book and then make payments as they would like all the way up until the final payment is due (75 days before the trip typically). We also offer financing options.
Let an expert help! We need to get to know our couples to learn what you are envisioning, your travel tastebuds, and learn about your groups vibe. This single decision will be critical in the satisfaction and experience of the entire group.
Planning 9-18 months ahead is perfect for allowing our specialists to secure the best rates and ensure availability for your group on your chosen wedding date. This forward-thinking approach also gives your guests ample time to financially prepare, guaranteeing everyone can be part of your special celebration.
Every country has its own unique set of legal requirements for tying the knot. Fortunately, our destination wedding specialists are here to guide you through the process with ease. With their extensive knowledge of wedding requirements across various destinations, they ensure that all the legal details are seamlessly handled, so you can focus on celebrating love in your dream location. If your chosen destination presents complex legal requirements, worry not! You can easily handle the legal aspects stateside and still savor a beautiful symbolic ceremony at your destination. It’s a seamless option that allows you to celebrate with all your loved ones without them noticing a thing—only the magic of your special day.
It all hinges on whether you’re planning a legal or symbolic ceremony. Opting for a legal marriage abroad means your marriage license will be issued from the country where you wed. However, if you prefer to handle the legalities in the US first, you’ll receive a US marriage certificate before enjoying a “symbolic” ceremony at your chosen destination. Your guests will be none the wiser, as the ceremony will be just as heartfelt and authentic in their eyes.
On average, destination weddings host around 40 guests, which typically represents about 70%-80% of your initial guest list. The more lead time you give your guests with the details, the higher the likelihood of increasing your guest count, ensuring more loved ones can join in on your special celebration.
It really comes down to how much time you’re able to invest in juggling contracts, negotiating rates, addressing guest queries, managing requests and changes, all while planning the wedding of your dreams. But here’s a tip: you don’t have to tackle it all alone. An expert can smoothly handle the complexities of group travel at no additional cost to your guests. Leave the logistics in capable hands so you can focus on the fun and exciting parts of your wedding. After all, this is our specialty, and we know the ins and outs like the back of our hand!
Absolutely! It’s quite common for couples to spend three nights at their chosen destination, either beforehand or shortly after securing their wedding date. This getaway allows you to meet with the wedding coordinator, explore the resort, connect with photographers and vendors, and even enjoy a hair and makeup trial. It’s a fantastic way to ensure everything fits your vision and to plan for your big day. Plus, many resorts offer special discounts for a 2-3 night trial stay, giving you a taste of what’s to come.
Resorts often offer these elements as part of their wedding packages or have trusted contractors they collaborate with for your convenience. You’re welcome to choose from the resort’s list of preferred vendors or opt to bring your own—whether they’re attending as a guest or a local professional. However, keep in mind that hiring external vendors typically incurs a fee for each one brought onto the property. It’s also not unusual for resorts to mandate specific vendors, particularly for decor, especially if they’ve experienced issues with non-preferred ones in the past.
While many resorts offer a dedicated onsite coordinator to manage the logistics of your destination wedding, hiring your own wedding coordinator can elevate the experience to a whole new level. A personal coordinator acts as your advocate, ensuring your vision is meticulously executed. They bring an outside perspective and creativity, provide personalized attention, and can assist from the initial planning stages through to the post-wedding debrief. Unlike the onsite coordinator, who might be managing several weddings simultaneously, your own coordinator focuses solely on you, offering continuity and personal insight throughout the process. They can also help navigate cultural nuances, liaise with all vendors, and handle any unexpected hiccups, allowing you to truly relax and enjoy every moment. It’s about layering peace of mind onto paradise!
Onsite wedding coordinators typically start working closely with couples about three months before the big day. This timeline allows them to finalize all the essential details, coordinate logistics, and ensure everything aligns with your vision. By this point, they’re fully focused on making your destination wedding as seamless and memorable as possible, giving you and your guests a celebration to cherish.

But don’t worry—when you choose to partner with us, we’ll help you begin preparing well before this time. You’ll have many decisions finalized before even starting to work with the onsite coordinator, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable planning process from start to finish.
No generally not. The wedding packages are fixed and cannot be altered based on a smaller guest count or if certain services aren’t required.
For couples planning an international destination wedding, it’s generally recommended to arrive at your destination at least three days before your ceremony (potentially more if having a legal ceremony). This timeframe allows you to acclimate, conduct final walkthroughs, meet with your wedding coordinator, and handle any last-minute details or adjustments. It also offers you the chance to relax and soak up the atmosphere, all before the festivities begin. This way, your big day unfolds seamlessly, with you feeling refreshed and ready to celebrate!
We suggest you select a time at least 1 hour before sunset in order to
have proper lighting for pictures after the ceremony. Please note that
Symbolic Ceremonies have more flexibility for timing. However for legal weddings, we must coordinate with the Judge’s schedule.
Each resort follows its own policy regarding weddings, with some hosting just one per day, while others may accommodate three or more if they have multiple venues. Typically, resorts offer distinct time slots and usually hold only one wedding per slot. With multiple weddings happening in a day, it’s worth considering hiring an outside wedding coordinator. They’ll be dedicated solely to you, ensuring that your celebration receives the undivided attention it deserves.
Most resorts offer wedding day passes for offsite guests, allowing them access to the property, usually starting an hour before the ceremony and ending after the reception. However, if you’re planning additional events leading up to the wedding, guests would need to purchase separate day passes for each event. These passes are capacity-controlled—meaning if the resort is fully booked, day passes won’t be available, potentially preventing attendance. Therefore, it’s recommended that guests, especially those involved in the wedding or wishing to attend all events, stay at least three nights at the host resort. This approach is generally more cost-effective than buying multiple day passes, managing transport, and handling the associated logistics.
It depends on the resort policy. If you plan to bring your own decorations, please inform the wedding coordinator and provide a detailed list of items. Note that many destinations do not permit fake flowers, plastic or paper decorations, or confetti. Additionally, a labor fee could apply for setting up the decorations you bring.
